Health Reform Advocacy

ASAN President Ari Ne'eman and other advocates from the cross-disability community recently attended a meeting at the White House to discuss with health reform staffers the proposed inclusion of a Community First Choice Medicaid State Option in the final health reform legislation. The proposal is meant as a first step toward enactment of the Community Choice Act, which will end the institutional bias in Medicaid and allow people with disabilities to live in their communities with appropriate supports and services.
